  • Part time basis at 14hrs per week Tuesdays and Thursdays, (then 21 hours subject to probation for group facilitation role in 2020)

For over 14 years, Heartfelt House has provided specialised group therapy programs and support services to female adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the Northern Rivers of NSW

About the opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Program Development Facilitator to join our team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the key responsibilities in this role will be to coordinate, deliver and develop a unique therapeutic group program called ‘Taking the First Steps’, with a focus on enhancing the lives of adult survivors of historical childhood sexual abuse

About the responsibilities

  • Coordinate, facilitate and monitor the set therapeutic group program and support services to ensure positive outcomes for clients
  • Drive the development of program delivery to meet trauma informed practice standards
  • Build, foster and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively with staff, facilitators, the CEO and Board of Directors

About you

You are passionate about improving outcomes for adult survivors of child sexual abuse. You are a dedicated and experienced group facilitator with superior communication and program coordination skills. You possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of complex trauma and the impacts of child sexual abuse on the daily lives of adult survivors. To be successful this role you will need:

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related community services discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the effects and impact of child sexual abuse, complex trauma and neglect on the daily lives of adult survivors
  • Experience working with clients in crisis situations
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation and understanding of group dynamics
  • Experience in program review, development and coordination of service delivery
  • Possess superior emotional intelligence, professional attitude and a strong team focus with highly developed communication skills, interpersonal skills and conflict management skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team
  • Superior computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Demonstrated understanding of compassion fatigue, burnout and healthy self-care
